EPACK Prefab, a Greater Noida-based firm, is set to expand its presence in the southern States with a new greenfield manufacturing unit in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. The company will invest approximately INR 200 crore to establish the facility, which will produce Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs) to meet the growing demand for such structures in the region.
The unit will add 84,000 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to EPACK Prefab’s existing production capacity of 1,00,000 MTPA, according to the director, Nikhil Bothra. With two existing plants located in Ghiloth, Rajasthan and Greater Noida, the company is well-positioned to meet the demands of the southern States, he said.
PEBs are known for their eco-friendliness and quick turnaround times compared to traditional construction methods. Mr. Bothra explained that PEBs emit up to 40% less carbon and can be completed 50% faster than conventional building practices such as cement and brickwork. The durability of PEB structures is on par with traditional construction techniques, he added.
The current market size of the PEB industry is estimated to be around INR 30,000 crore, and is expected to grow as the government focuses on infrastructure development. EPACK Prefab is poised to be a major player in this revolution, according to Mr. Bothra.
